The Clive Palmer Band
First making his name in the 1960’s with The Incredible String Band CLIVE PALMER went on to record landmark albums with The Famous Jug Band and C.O.B. After moving to Cornwall Clive became a familiar fixture on the Cornish folk scene and then following a spell in Brittany and a revival of the I.S.B. he returned to Penzance a couple of years ago. Teaming up with local based musicians; Tim Wellard, John Bickersteth, Bob Morley , Nick McLeod, Gina Brown and Sally Mason, Clive Palmer has begun performing again. As usual a wide variety of unusual instruments are on show and the material ranges from ISB numbers, traditional songs from England, America and Scotland as well as a rifle through the songs created by Clive, Tim and other members of the band. Unlikely to be a dull gig.....a chance to see one of the legends of the UK Folk Scene, still creating new music after four decades in the business.

Bridget St John
& Michael Chapman
Bridget St John is a hard act to prise away from her native New York - and Michael Chapman is one of the few who can persuade her. Back in the mid sixties Bridget and Michael were two of the burgeoning singer/songwriters honing their skills on the acoustic folk circuit alongside the likes of Ralph McTell, John Martyn and Richard Thompson. Bridget was taken up by John Peel and his quirky Dandelion label, gaining a reputation for her thought provoking lyrics and wonderful breathy voice - whist Michael was one of the first acts signed to EMI’s new progressive Harvest label. The Bridget and Michael tour will see them collaberating for part of the night as well as performing their own individual sets

BAKA BEYOND Quintet
Baka Beyond was founded in 1992 after British musicians Martin Cradick and Su Hart had visited the Baka Pygmies of the Cameroon. So inspired were they by their magical rhythms and melodies that they recorded an album "Spirit of the Forest" which pushed them into worldwide recognition. For their Spring 2010 tour Baka Beyond has been slimmed down to a 5-piece core. Ghanaian percussionist, Nii Tagoe provides the rhythm section with Congolese bass player Kibisingo (of Kanda Bongo Man) tied together by Martin Cradick's hypnotic guitar, described as sounding like Jerry Garcia after taking a long trip in West Africa. Su Hart is joined on vocals by Molara, Fela Kuti's niece and the original voice of dub dance pioneers, Zion Train. Not "unplugged", just as vibrant and danceable as ever this line-up gives Baka Beyond a chance to revisit some of the smaller venues that they had outgrown
